Is there a way to copy a measurement to another layer of the same drawing? For instance, you have a paved area that requires finish grading in the pavement layer, but also need to be over-excavated in the over-ex layer. It takes some time to do measurements on oddly shaped areas and if you do it twice, the area will most likely not be the same between the two measurements.

You can copy any measurement using the following steps:
- Select the measurement you wish to copy
- On the takeoff toolbar, click the button to "Move/Copy Measurements"
- Hold the Ctrl key down, click on the measurement and drag it slightly. If you want it exactly on the original measurement, move it away, then back. But you may want to leave it slightly offset so you can see both measurements.
- On the takeoff toolbar, click on the button to "Select Measurement".
- Select the copied measurement and change its layer.
You can select multiple measurements and move/copy them all at once.
Also, you may find it easier to change the layer for the original measurement.Posted 1 year ago # -
Thanks, that worked perfectly, except that I copied the measurement, selected it, then applied my over-ex trace from the trace tree.
Thanks for the quick response.Posted 1 year ago #
