Is there a way to measure something on the drawing without getting a quantity? For example, if i just wanted to know the height of a wall, is there a way to pull that measurement without using a trace to do it? Also, have the height of the wall show up on the drawing?

You can add a line annotation that has arrows on each end to designate that wall height. If you click on the annotation to select it, the length is shown as a tooltip. Next, add a text annotation for length.
