It would be really helpful to be able to create several standard traces with the same name. We are a painting firm & often use the same material & color for several different types of traces.
Example:
Prep, Prime & Finish P1 gypsum walls at
I can use this same description for a Length, Perimeter or Area measurement. It would be nice if I could make 4 standard traces with the same description. I know I could make some using similar names but that's not ideal.
Unfortunately the trace name is the unique identifier for the trace.
One possibility would be to add a user preference for a "Trace Decsription Terminator". When this character is encountered in the description, the rest of the descrition is not displayed on the drawing or in the measurement list.
So lets say you choose the character "!" (exclamation point). You could have these 2 traces:
In the measurement list and on the drawing only "Prep Prime & Finish P1 Gypsum Walls" would be displayed.
That's a little kludgy but it might give you what you need. Let me know what you think.
