   When I measure tiles on bathroom walls I often encounter various trims and borders that are included. I would like to write an extension that prompts me for the height of each of the borders and then calculates the s.f. of each of the borders. For example if a wall has 6' of white field tile, 1' border of red tile and 2' of border of blue tile, and the extension uses a measured base of 10 lf, I would like it to return the following answer without having to measure each indvidually:

   60 sf of white tile
   10 sf of red tile
   20 sf of blue tile

   You can get multiple quantity results using an extension. I will create an example and post it here for you.

   Did you create the example for the request made by Silvia 888? I do a lot of the same and doing what she proposed will be of alot of help for what I do. If you posted already, please let me know what do I have to do to get it.

   Antonio - Here it is. I had created this several weeks ago on Silvia's system. We just got back together so she could send it back to me. This extension is designed to measure the length of a wall either from a plan view or an elevation view. Make sure to enter "0" for any field that you don't need including the doors. If you are doing just on room on 1 floor don't forget to enter 1 in the Number of Floors field. Click the link below to download the extension. You will need to unzip it and then open eTakeoff and select "Options/Import Standards". Select the file you unzipped and make sure to click on the yellow folder to select all. It will then be available to use with any trace.

   David,
   I followed the link above and it messed up my PC. I am still running XP on mine, but will go to Windows 7 this week. I hope not to have more issues with this.
   The quantity list input is not friendly, I got to enter each value, it does not allowed to tab, or enter and go to the next value. Also the results in the measurment list showes the length measured and not the SF of accent tile. I know that it can be fixed. I actually can write the extension but it appears that I am not allowed to do more with Etakeoff.

   My request to follow up on the above is this.

   Assuming that I am doing a wall take off one room at a time. If I measure the perimeter in a room, I would like to obtain the results in the measurement list as follows:

   Wall Area in SF
   Accent Tile in SF if existing
   Cove Base in Units if existing
   Bullnose in Units if existing

   I will need to enter the following values after measuring the perimeter of the room or area.

   Wall height in feet
   Accent tile height in feet
   Number of Door or cero
   Cove Base: Enter height and length in feet or CERO if none
   Bullnose: Enter same info as for cove base

   Also if I do a floor take off, I would like to obtain the cove base in units if applicabe, since I measure the perimeter to get the area.

   I do all the above but have to measure one at a time for each type. The reasons for Cove Base and Bullnose on each is because it is sold by units not by SF. If I can help, please let me know.

   Can you post the upgrades for the pro version. It will help a lot to know what are the upgrades for specific version.

   Are you planning to do 3 "d" for flooring take off, your competitors are offering decent packages with 3 "d" which looks very good once you are done with your take offs, if gives assurance than nothing was left out. Please let me know.
