Sometimes when I attempt to start a trace attached to an Item in a quanity worksheet, at a point that already has a trace in place, for example, where 2 flooring types meet,the 1st point doesn't appear on the page. but the second point will. If I undo, undo, and start over the 1st point "takes". Has anyone else reported this anomally or do you think my mouse is down for the count?

I suspect your mouse is fine. What's most likely is that the last thing you clicked on before clicking the first point has the attention of the mouse. When you click on the first point, that click is used to transfer the mouse's attention to the drawing rather than being seen by the drawing as a point.
If you can recreate this, let us know the specific steps. Then we can track down the problem. (I tried to recreate it myself but couldn't.)
