I usually work only with wood estimating and I have many layers associated with that type of estimating. I am starting to work with concrete and there will be layers associated with that type of work. Both of these ITT files will be available to different types of contractors and I do not want to mix the layers. How can I make sure that one type of estimate does not have layers from another type of estimate. This would also be needed for the Bid Codes.

I'm not sure how we'd do this. First we'd have to identify "types" of estimates (projects). Then we'd have to specify the estimate type (types?) for each layer and bid code.
Why is it important to "prevent" layer mixing? If the layers are assigned by trace and quantity worksheet item, they would only get into an estimate if they imported the worksheet template or used a trace that references that layer or bid code. I suspect I'm missing something here.
If we had organizing trees (like we do for traces) for layers and bidcodes, would that help?
