   I am taking off several city blocks of sidewalk removal and replacement from a GIS/PDF drawing that shows area and perimeter of all existing sidewalks per sheet of drawings. All existing sidewalks are 4' in depth, so if their quantities are correct I know the amount of removal.

   I need to check all measurements and area quantities that are on the GIS drawings; also need to modify all existing 8'-0" wide sidewalks to 10'-0" wide x 6" deep when I replace them to allow for Humvee travel. What do I do to make eTakeoff record the perimeter & area when I use the volume with depth entered? Do I have to do 2 takeoffs; or can I build an assembly for this?

   Eric, Yes you can take a volume measurement and have eTakeoff automatically keep track of Area and Perimeter. In your Quantity Worksheet you would neeed 3 items, one for Volume, one for area and one for perimeter. Create area and perimeter as sub-items to volume. Create the volume item to assign measurements to. Create area and perimeter items (you will need to use items name other than "Area" and "Perimeter") as formulas that point to the Volume item and pull the appropriate quantity.
