For a long time, we supported the Shift key as a shortcut for adding a disconnect point. Over a year ago we switched to the "G" key (as in new "G"roup). This had several advantages. First, it's easier to press and release the G key than to hold down the shift key while clicking on the point. Also, it frees up the Shift key for implementing other point-specific behavior.
We left the Shift key logic in place until release 2.5. In 2.5, we needed the Shift key for uncounted points. So you need to use the G key now. We apologize to users for the inconvenience of having to learn a different key. We don't like making changes like this but felt it was justified.
